Welcome Pilbara Peeps!

For two weeks in May I was up in Karratha, helping to establish the CoderDojo WA network in the Pilbara. Champion and Mentor training was held at the local high school, St Luke’s College, and we had 15 potential Champions and Mentors in attendance, with Champions coming from schools in Pannowanica, Roebourne, Dampier and Karratha, to find out more about CoderDojo WA! Thanks to Jessica Reid in Woodside’s Pilbara offices, we now have a small group of Woodside employees to act as potential mentors for any Dojos that emerge in the Pilbara!

Karratha is a beautiful spot, and close to my heart (as a former resident). It would be fantastic to see a coding community created in the region.

Champion and Mentor training – June

This month we had the State Library of WA to thank for hosting our Champion and Mentor training session. We had 52 people in attendance. A massive shout out to Jane Jones for organising the event. The views of the city were impressive! 🙂

Please, if you are coming to the next training event (to be announced!), remind me to take some photos!
