Mitch Resnick

Many Ninjas in WA love making games and animations using Scratch. But do you know who made Scratch, and why they made it?

Whilst Scratch was developed by a team at MIT Media Lab, one of the key figures involved was Mitch Resnick. When he is not building cool things with Lego, Mitch runs the Lifelong Kindergarten group at MIT Media Lab, which is dedicated to helping people of all ages tinker and experiment with design.

Mitch is inspiring because he is one of those adults who has not lost that feeling of curiosity and fun about the world. He has dedicated his whole life to helping young people as well as adults to not lose their curiosity and enjoyment of learning.

Along with the team at MIT Media Lab, Mitch Resnick created the Scratch platform to help young people explore the world of code by exploring and creating. Here is a short video that explains his way of thinking about learning and creativity.
